The ingredients must have come to me in my sleep. The more I use my slow cooker, the more I love it.

This salmon is so delicious on it's own. I decided to cedar plank the salmon on the grill, and drizzle it with some cayenne lime butter.

After having a bite of the Chipotle Chicken Tacos my coworker brought for lunch a couple of weeks ago, this was my dinner two days later.

If you know me you know I am a sucker for avocado and chipotle. I used a rotisserie chicken so it's super easy to make.

Egg, Prosciutto & Tomato Muffins
Sriracha Meatballs

I'm a big fan of savory muffins. These are pretty much mini omelettes in a cup. They are perfect for weekend brunch, and even better to make ahead for the week and then pop them in the microwave.

Confessions of a Pregnant Food Blogger

Week 31

I haven't posted much about my pregnancy on here, as I generally try to stick with food, but with less than 9 weeks left until the due date I thought I'd give you all an update. Below are some 'confessions' aka random thoughts, information and ramblings about my pregnancy so far.

I eat 2 pounds of strawberries a week when they're on sale, when they're not on sale I go into withdrawal.

My go to breakfast is an Egg and Cheese on an English Muffin.

The only food that has not been appealing to me is buffalo wings.

We refer to Baby KMW as Little 12, a Seattle Seahawks reference.

The gender of Little 12 will be a surprise to everyone but the ultrasound technician.

Our nursery is white, gray and blue, which makes people think its a boys nursery. I'm a girl and I wear plenty of blue.

My Mom drank a Mint Julep the night before I was born, so I think it only makes sense to try to induce labor with one as part of my 'birth plan.'

In our birthing class, one of the first questions asked was how do I like to slow down and relax. Is it bad that Mr. KMW and I were completely blank?

It was 80 degrees in Seattle last week, and I was thoroughly confused why Mr. KMW thought he had a say on whether we kept the windows open at night.

When we had our 80 degree weather last week, I bought this maxi skirt from Old Navy, it is ridiculously comfortable and I'm tempted to buy one for everyday of the week.

Speaking of maternity clothes, I have a love/hate relationship with Gap. I like their basic clothes, but I have dealt with the absolute worst customer service when shopping there. Oh and the leggings I bought there were see through, not appropriate.

I hosted an NCAA March Madness pool with my side of the family, and I said whoever won would get to pick the name of our baby. Whether I would actually let that happen or not, no one wiill know, because I was the champion.

When choosing names, I realized that if Mr. KMW doesn't like a name the first time I say it, he easily warms up to it once I say it a lot and it becomes familiar to him. Even more so if I whisper it in his ear while he is sleeping.

We have had a boys name picked out for awhile, and I think we have finally landed on a girls name. We're not sharing them, and that drives my Mom crazy.

Exercise wise, I played basketball through my first trimester and have attempted to maintain other forms of exercise throughout. I'm about as good at keeping an exercise regime up when I'm pregnant than when I'm not, which means I get about 2-3 days of exercise in a week. Now that our Seattle days are getting longer, I have been able to increase that number a little. It also means that I'll soon be going to bed before it's dark.

My husband and I both started new jobs 3 months before Little 12 is due (mine with the same company), because there just wasn't enough going on in our lives.

While I haven't been blogging as much, I still have been cooking. We'll blame it on nesting.

I love beer and wine, but I haven't missed drinking as much as I thought I would. Although, I can't wait for an ice cold, hoppy IPA on a hot July day. And was very happy to hear that beer may help with milk production.

So funny! You seem to be approaching pregnancy with the same humor and balance that you have so many other adventures in your life...which means you will just be the coolest parents ever. You will laugh when the baby pees on the floor, open a bottle of wine during the "cry it out" phase, and try so hard not to laugh the fist time your kid says "shit". So happy for you two! It is a very nice post Carrie. Even i went through the same phase. Eat all possible things that I could but only could eat all those that was healthy for the baby. With the increasing size of the dresses I could only wear a limited number of it then I got this fertile mind dresses.
