The ingredients must have come to me in my sleep. The more I use my slow cooker, the more I love it.

Cedar Planked Salmon with Cayenne Lime Butter

This salmon is so delicious on it's own. I decided to cedar plank the salmon on the grill, and drizzle it with some cayenne lime butter.

If you know me you know I am a sucker for avocado and chipotle. I used a rotisserie chicken so it's super easy to make.

Egg, Prosciutto & Tomato Muffins
Sriracha Meatballs

I'm a big fan of savory muffins. These are pretty much mini omelettes in a cup. They are perfect for weekend brunch, and even better to make ahead for the week and then pop them in the microwave.

Blood Orange Vodka Cocktail

Blood Orange Vodka Cocktail

Let's move beyond my extremely boring name for this cocktail, and get to drinking.

When Blood Oranges came in our CSA a couple of weeks ago, I knew I was going to mix them with some booze. I was seeing all sorts of Blood Orange Margaritas and Martinis and wanted to share in the fun. As usual with my drinks, I kept it simple, the fewer ingredients and less mixing I have to do, the quicker I get to drinking!

Let me know if you think of a better name for this drink. In the meantime, cheers!

The recipe below is for 1 cocktail, multiply as needed. In our house, there is quite a bit of multiplication.

juice of 1 blood orange
1 shot of vodka
2 shots of club soda
juice of 1/2 of 1 lime
1 to 2 splashes of triple sec

Shake ingredients together and pour over ice. Or if you don't have a shaker, combine in a glass and stir well.

That little blood orange looks like a basketball - given the time of year, I say call it March Madness!

This looks soo amazing - thank you for sharing. Your description against wasting drinking time thinking of a name and adding any extra ingredients cracked me up! Now excuse me while I go and peruse your archives for some more goodies!
